Our full Branch meetings take place monthly. All Branch members are welcome to attend, and interested non-members are also invited.
We generally meet on the third Thursday of the month. The business meeting takes place in the morning, followed by a brown bag lunch at noon — with tea, coffee, and dessert provided — and then a lecture or presentation.
Please note there is no Branch meeting this month.
Recent branch meeting speakers include Martha Maffei, executive director of SEPA Mujer, a community-based non-profit dedicated to the empowerment of Hispanic immigrant women; Professor Diane J. Heith, chair of the St. John’s University politics department, discussing politics and elections; author Rene Kann Silver, who wrote a Holocaust memoir, “And Yet I Still Loved France”; Detective James L. Coll of the New York City Police Department talking about abortion rights; and Marc Ahonte, Esq., an associate at the Garden City law firm of Karol Hausman & Sosnick, on elder law.
